when is enough, ENOUGH???

Seriously! I just filled up Justin's tank and it was $4.48/gallon for diesel (It was $3.71 for regular). Luckily at that gas station I can get milk for $2.99 (down from $3.29 on sale, but just last year I got a gallon from them for $1.99, regular price is $4.99). Eggs have doubled price at my Costco. Wheat's prices are going up up up.... One can't stretch their dollar very far any more. On Thursday, we have a vote on our town budget, now I maybe moving but this isn't going to stop me from voting. I feel it my duty to stop them raising the taxes which are already insanely high. We all have to learn to live within the budget we have been given, redirect money to the places that need them not try and generate a new revenue to get the funding. Look at what programs aren't working and do away with them. Businesses do it all the time. I think they need an effeciency expert in there ASAP!

everyday life

When browsing through scrapbooks as I pack them, I have realized I haven't been taking the everyday photos that I used too. I have been waiting to do L's 18 month shoot. Well instead of that, I took the camera out and just took photos of what he likes doing best; setting up his Cars. BROOOM....brooooom.....brooom.

catching up on unfinished projects

Okay I gave up on trying to scrapbook the last five years and most of that stuff is packed up now. We are on the home stretch, less than 2 months before the big move date. So I have this corner in my room of fabric for new projects, cut out projects, somewhat sewn and finishing touches. I have to get this stuff packed up. I have given up on the idea that I will have M's quilt pieced together before I leave. So aside from the embroidery I have left to do on it I have abandoned that idea. I found in the stack of stuff; a messenger bag I made for our babysitter for her birthday. All I had to do was sew the lining in, I can now check that off my list. I am pleased considering it is my first bag. Now that is almost 4 months past her birthday, maybe she can use it in the fall.

Sleeping Beauty

M had her friend birthday party this weekend. We were folding up the tissue paper and there were 2 shades of pink and white. She said, "Mom, I can make you a Sleeping Beauty dress with this." She asked for tape and scissors and got to work. Pretty impressive if you ask me! She created it all be herself and informed me that I would still have to wear my clothes with it because it was more of an apron.

ENT

So last week the kids were on Spring Vacation. Justin had to work and so did we. The kids and I are patient instructors and work with the Medical School students. This assignment we were to meet with the 1st years and they were to learn and perform a basic physical exam on the kids (check lymph nodes, ears, mouth, eyes, heart, lungs, and reflexes). They were asking questions to the kids, basically trying to break the ice. One med student was talking to M and wanted to know if she knew the name of what she was holding, M was being a tad shy. A chimmed in, "It is an otoscope!" The med students were amazed, he knew the name. They of course, turned their attention to him and wanted to know how he knew that. He responded, "My dad is a doctor." They said, "Oh that would explain why. What kind of doctor is he?" A says, "ENT". Med students, "Do you know what that stands for?" A amazes them again, "Ears, Nose, Throat." Then thinking they could stump him and curious they asked,"Do you know the long name for Ears, Nose, Throat." I was intrigued I didn't know if he knew it or not. He responded right away, "Otolaryngology!" Needless to say they think he is a genious. Way to go A!!!!!! Among other questions they asked if he wanted to be a doctor. He said, "No I don't think so, I want to create things and build things, maybe an engineer."

teaser for you Sara!

baby e

isn't she a doll!!!! She shares the same birthday as my M. I can't believe baby e was so cooperative and lighting was great. I love little tiny babies, she is about 6 1/2 lbs. I am so happy for her mom too. After 3 boys, a girl is a wonderful present.

look who's 5!

Someone pinch me!!! Where did 5 years go? When she was born we were graduating from medical school and looking on to residency and now we are nearing the end of residency. WOW! M has had a great day. We did this photo shoot today. I had to stop at the grocery store to grab pink frosting (I had a hard time finding it, no one had it in stock). M always asks for flowers so...she was with me and she picked out the roses. A girl needs flowers on her birthday! Her favorite presents were Giselle Barbie, Enchanted Ball and animated version. She told A, "you can have Robert." M told everyone today was her fake birthday because she will have her real birthday when her friends come over to her pinata party and garden party. (Those are one event happening next week)

a message to the Tooth Fairy

I know you must have a busy schedule but we are needing a visit to our house tonight. We have someone who has waited a very long time to lose his first tooth. He is nearing the end of 2nd grade. You see it happened at school. Mrs. Clark (our school nurse) took really good care of the tooth and put it in a plastic tooth necklace to safely transport it home. 'A' was very anxious to get the pictures over with so he could put the tooth in a small envelope and under his pillow. It is waiting there (and it is only 5:38pm). I hope that you can make it at some point tonight.
Thanks,
Mom
