somebody wake me

I feel like I have been on this nightmare vacation that drags on and on and on. Well nightmare may be exaggerating but it the way I feel for now. I am tired of going on "vacation" (ie family reunions, family weddings) Oh wait I get to go again tomorrow. I am soo tired of living out of a suitcase and not having stuff. I HATE not knowing where things are and using someone else's computer. My car exploded today. So far it looks like antifreeze. I had gone to print up pictures for an assignment (I had to use ones off my blog because I don't have access to my pictures currently...ugh). I was backing out and a huge explosion. I saw stuff blow out from under the hood. I quickly pulled back into the parking space. A nice fellow heard the explosion and came over to assist me. He was so patient (I couldn't even find the stupid lever to unlatch the hood.)He had me turn off the car and I told him I would call AAA. He kept checking things out and showed me a couple of things to point out to the mechanic. Then here comes my Aunt. It wasn't planned but definetly a blessing. She drove me to her house and then we sent the boys to go take care of the car. Justin called AAA and had them tow the car to a dealership, $60 later we find out that there was a dealership just down the street and it would have been free to tow. Oh well what do you do? Only a few more weeks until I get to start unpacking. I am not excited about that but it will be nice to have my own stuff again. Wish me luck or wake me up and tell me it is all a dream.

Thing 1, Thing 2, and

Thing 3. I had to post a pic of the kids in their shirts that we brought back from Florida. Thanks Paige! (I stole the pic off of her blog). It was well worth the $$$ spent for the shirts. I LOVE THEM. Mainly because that is what we call our kids. (Well M gets more of the "Super Thang, Chocolate Thunder or Ben") I have already had to wash them several times because it is all they want to wear! Super score on the souvenirs! Wahoo!

Boy advice for M

Shalece, Justin's cousin had a friend over tonight. She wanted to make that we would be passing through the room so that he wouldn't put the moves on her. (She is in college and getting ready to go to India for a month....so jealous.) Anyway this friend was a previous boyfriend and she just wants to be friends. When he left he gave Shalece a hefty envelope with a letter. After reading it she told M, "don't ever like boys!" M, "I like my brother though." Shalece, "oh you can like your brother, he is cool." M, "yeah he does tricks!!"

house update

Hey I have a million things to get done today so I have to be brief. We got back from Florida yesterday. The sellers accepted our offer and tomorrow we will meet with them to negotiate the details. So we are under contract. I don't know if I should be excited or nervous (your body has the same reaction so I can't tell what I am). While on vacation I watched tons of HGTV and feeling more like I will make the wrong choice in landscape, paint or decorating...LOL.

Sunny Florida

Ahhhh! Nothing like a little vacation away from all our cares. Justin and I are in Orlando currently. He has a conference and I tagged long (without kids!!!). This is our first time away without anyone in tow. We have spent that past two days in Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Our favorite rides: The Mummy and MIB. The coasters were pretty intense but glad we rode them once. I have blisters on my pinky toes from all the walking. We have decided that we really aren't theme park people but it has been fun. I especially enjoy being able to go out to dinner. We even caught a late movie last night. They have dance clubs on the City Walk so we will most likely end up at one of them tonight. Justin started his conference today so I decided I needed to do a little catch up and hopefully get out to the pool to soak up some rays.
So as much as we didn't want to buy a house from across the country. WE ARE!! The seller decided to accept our offer. Now I don't want to hold my breath but at least we are getting a little closer to getting settled. Here is a picture of the house. This is from a few months ago, the timbers on the front are stained dark brown. And the garage is rocked. The front door is still not painted and the landscaper is waiting for us to get back to plan out our yard. After how stressful our move was for Justin and I we realized there is no way we would be able to survive a remodel and still have one of us alive at the end. So we found a new home in the same neighborhood we were looking in and fell in love. (Justin with the house and me the yard.) So we will see what happens. I am familiar with Real Estate and know there are many more hoops to jump through before it is a done deal.

moving still sucks

Okay I am feeling a little better than what I was this weekend. We arrived in Utah early Friday morning. Then Friday we looked around for housing/apartments all day with all the kids in tow. That was a fantastic family activity I highly recommend it, especially when no one has slept and extremely hungry. Great times! We did get invited to a neighborhood block party in the area we wish to move too. We received lots of information which was really nice. Saturday was the same running around trying to find an apartment to move into immediately. Called more storage units to store our stuff. That was a nice chase. We opened a bank account and then my brother offered his unfinished basement to store our things for a short period. So we started the unloading process. I have had to swallow a big humility pill. Justin's parents not only helped us pack/load/drive, now they had to help unload. My brother Taylor, Justin's Aunt and my sister Natalie helped. We didn't complete it and it took much longer than anticipated. Sunday we went to church in the ward that had the block party on Friday night. We met lots of nice people and a couple who may be selling their house. After church we drove around the neighborhoods again and then went to Justin's parents condo (where we have been staying) and took a much needed nap. Then we had a a nice picnic with Justin's parents and his sister Ash and her kiddos. Then the dreaded unloading of the remainder of our stuff out of the truck. My sister Sarah and Nick, Taylor, my Mom and her husband, and Natalie with her boyfriend helped with the rest of the unloading. And also poor Adam, Paige's brother got roped in. He didn't know what he got himself into for stopping by. Then a little Guitar Hero to break up the tension. Dropping off the truck was a nightmare. We drove around for 2 hours trying to find it (we started at midnight, with all the kids with us). I got pulled over for running a red light. I don't think I have ever run a red light in my life but stupid choices happen after midnight. Of course, who was there to witness my mistake a cop. I was so busted and couldn't even justify it. When he came up to car I handed him my license and told him what stupid choice I had made and felt bad for endangering my family and others. I then said, After we process this can you please help me with directions to the Penske truck place. He then asked if I was visiting. I said that we had just moved here. He said Why? Connecticut is so nice! I then replied I have been asking myself the same question, we have had a move from h*ll. Amazingly he said he would let me off with a warning. I almost said but I deserve the ticket I was in the wrong but I did graciously thank him for the directions. I felt really bad when we got back to the condo, Justin's mom had waited up for us and it was 2am. Even though Justin has grown up his mom still takes really good care of us. We made a list of houses to go to and Taylor made the appointments and we went and saw a good chunk of them today. Tomorrow we will see the rest of them. Then decide which one to make an offer on. We will be at the condo one more night and then we will be staying at Justin's Aunts house. Next week Justin and I go on a much needed r&r without the kids. July hasn't even started and I feel it has already ended.
